Little Bitty Farm is our little farm located in Northwest Arkansas. My husband Ben and I have been married for five years and we are just youngsters getting started in the world of backyard farming and gardening. We have been very blessed by the good Lord to live in a simple house just off a dirt road in a cove of trees. It’s nothing fancy, but I love it! I am a work-at-home medical transcriptionist and we don’t make a whole lot of money, but we have learned how to squeak by.
We have a flock of various breeds of chickens, a shy cart pony, four cats who claim they are royalty, two crazy lovable collie dogs, and the occasional fish or tadpole. We enjoy feeding the birds and watching wildlife out in the country and gardening. Living out here we never have a dull moment – from stray dogs showing up to finding a snake in the chicken pen! We are also constantly learning how to do new things – raising chicks, raised bed gardening, learning to sew, or even making jelly.
Hubby and I have big plans for our future including geese, goats, and whatever else happens to wander onto our little farm! I want to keep that sweet old tradition I grew up with – living off the land and from my own farm fresh eggs and meat. My husband loves to hunt and fish and we hope to one day pass down this art of living off the land to children of our own. Because no matter how advanced and techno-savvy this world gets, everyone needs a big ol’ glass of iced tea with a slice of pie, to be covered in dirt and the sweat of hard work, and to watch the sunset from your front porch! That’s what we are all about here at Little Bitty Farm.
