Birthday Gifts For The Chicken Enthusiast

January 15, 2016

Birthdays are a special time of year. Our friends that raise chickens are just like everyone else, they would like a thoughtful birthday present now and then. We were trying to come up with some great birthday suggestions for our chicken farmer friends, but we were not having any luck. So, we turned to our Facebook Friends– and wow, did they have some amazing suggestions!

Amanda offered the first gift idea, as she suggested a handmade (we like this) coupon for a coop cleaning from the giver of the coupon! Thoughtful, Real, and a fun gift!

Hannah, Heather, Bobby Sue suggested gift cards/certificates to Hoover’s Hatchery!  A clever idea- we could make that happen!

Rhea suggested a T-Shirt! A chicken themed t-shirt, of course. The shirt came from Raising BackYard Chickens, Build a Chicken Coop, Pictures of Breeds . We are tossing the idea of a t-shirt contest for Hoover’s Hatchery shirts, anyone interested in a contest for that?

Jann suggested a book about chickens. May we make a suggestion here? We highly recommend Angela England’s new book Backyard Farming on on Acre (More or Less).

Heather suggested a Lowe’s or Home Depot Gift Certificate, great resources when it comes to building those chicken coops.

Dusty thought a skillet, flour, and vegetable oil would be great. We agree, wrap that up with a Red Ranger Chicken and you will have a tasty birthday meal!

Just in case you did not know. We do have sweatshirts, t-shirts, caps, and coffe cups on hand! Hoover’s Hatchery customers would appreciate any of these items!

Evelyn and Lisa suggested gift certificates to the local feed store or local co-op for chicken feed. A bag of chicken was also suggested. Happy chicks, for a party with chicken feed- you gotta love that!

Sue and Angie suggested a couple items for the kitchen table- A cute tray for deviled eggs and an egg skelter.

Gloria and Heather reminded us that it’s not about the “things.” A birthday gift for them would be someone watching their babies for a long week-end, so that they could enjoy a week-end away with their spouses and not worry about the chickens!

Wow~ What a list! So, if you are on the hunt for the ideal birthday gift for someone that loves chickens, look no further! We’ve got you covered.

We would love to hear your suggestions, share them in the comment section below! Your birthday shopping for the chicken enthusiast  just got a whole lot easier!
